Who logged into your account?
Did you know that google tracks you every time you log in to check your email? It tracks what computer you used, what browser you used, if you used your iPhone or any other device. The cool part is that you can easily see that log yourself and it is a great way to see if someone other than YOU is trying to access your email.

How can you see this log?

It is easy, go to your inbox, scroll down to the very bottom of all your emails,
in the bottom right hand corner underneath your emails,
in tiny little letters you will see a notification that says "last account activity:" and then how many minutes or hours it was since you last checked it.

Underneath it, it will say "details" - click on the details, and a new window will pop up. It will show you how often you checked your email, what browser you used, like Firefox, Chrome or Safari.

You want to pay attention to the IP address, the first couple of numbers should all more or less be the same in this case they should all start with "65.18.52..... " That is our schools address on the internet! If you check your email from home, the IP numbers will be different but every time you check your email they should also be more or less the same.

If you see that the IP address is from Germany, Turkey or any other location that is not around us! That is a unusual and suspicious, change your password!!

If you checked your school email from your home computer before you left for work in the morning and never signed out from your email, or if you checked it using a different web browser, this is how you will be alerted. Underneath the activity information it will tell you that your account is open in another location like this, click on "sign out all other sessions", just to be safe!
